Indian Railways (REMCL) Rooftop Solar & Traction Power Tenders

How to bid for Railway Energy Management Company Limited (REMCL) solar installations on railway stations, workshops, and vacant land tracks.

Indian Railways aims for net-zero carbon emissions by 2030, tendering massive rooftop and land-based solar installations through REMCL (Railway Energy Management Company Ltd).

Projects fall into two categories: Rooftop solar on platform sheds, station buildings, and manufacturing workshops; and Ground-mounted solar along vacant railway tracks feeding directly into 25kV AC traction lines.

Railway work requires strict safety approvals: track safety protocols, permit-to-work (PTW) clearances, and coordination with Railway Safety Commissioners (CRS).

Bidders must demonstrate experience working in live railway environments or hold Class-1 CPWD / Railway electrical contractor enlistment.

Generation monitoring systems must transmit real-time telemetry to the Central Railway Energy Management System.
